Bipedal locomotion
Balancing and walking on two legs, the core ability of a humanoid robot.
A two-legged robot is never really standing still: it constantly corrects its balance using the IMU, joint sensors and a controller running hundreds of times per second. Walking, turning, carrying a load and recovering from a push are separate skills that vendors improve over time.
Humanoids are made for spaces built for people, such as stairs, doorways and shelves. In practice check walking speed, how it behaves on slopes and thresholds, what happens after a fall, and whether it can get up without help.
