Quadruped robot

A robot that walks on four legs, usually called a robot dog.

Four legs give much better stability than two, so quadrupeds handle stairs, grass, gravel and slopes where wheeled robots stop. They are used for inspection of plants and substations, security rounds, research and education, and as a platform to attach sensors or an arm.

Compare runtime (often one to two hours of real work), payload, stair and slope ratings, and the quality of the SDK if you plan to program it. Consumer models are cheap and good for learning, industrial ones add dust and water protection and longer endurance.
