Path planning

Calculating a safe route from the current position to the goal.

Planning happens at two levels. The global planner picks a route through the whole map, such as from the kitchen to table 12. The local planner adjusts every fraction of a second to avoid a person who just stepped in the way.

Good planning shows in details: whether a restaurant robot slows near guests, waits politely in a narrow aisle, or blocks it for minutes. Ask to see the robot in a space similar to yours, and check how you can mark no-go zones and one-way paths.
