Gripper
The most common end effector: a device that grips, pinches or holds objects.
Grippers come in several types: two-finger parallel jaws for boxes and parts, vacuum grippers for flat and smooth surfaces, soft grippers for fruit and food, and adaptive multi-finger ones for mixed objects. Each is a compromise between versatility, speed and price.
Choose by the object, not by the robot. Specify weight, size range, surface and whether it may be dirty or wet. Check the grip force you can adjust, because too much crushes a pastry, and the stroke, so that one gripper can cover your largest and smallest item.
