Goods-to-person (GTP)
A warehouse setup where robots bring the goods to a worker instead of the worker walking to the shelf.
In a traditional warehouse pickers can walk many kilometers a day. In GTP, robots lift a shelf or tote and deliver it to a fixed pick station, so people stay in one place and pick faster.
It suits e-commerce with many small orders and a large number of items. For slow-moving stock or very bulky items it is less useful. When comparing systems, look at picks per hour per station, how much the shelves can hold and how easy it is to add more robots later.
