Digital twin

A virtual copy of a robot or a facility used for testing before touching the real thing.

A digital twin lets you place virtual robots in a virtual model of your warehouse and see whether they collide, queue or run out of battery. It also helps with training staff and with trying a new layout without stopping the line.

For small purchases you rarely need it. For a project with ten or more robots it can save expensive mistakes, so ask the integrator whether they simulate your site before installation. Note that the twin is only as accurate as the data you feed into it.
