Unitree began trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market on 19 August 2026 at an IPO price of 150.80 yuan. AFP reports the stock peaked 629% higher at the open and closed up 460%. A strong debut says a lot about investor appetite and little yet about what a G1 or Go2 will cost next quarter.

What happened on the first day
AFP, via Kuwait Times, reports that Unitree, a Hangzhou-based maker of humanoid and quadruped robots, debuted on Wednesday 19 August 2026. The shares jumped as much as 629% to 1,100 yuan at the open and closed at 845 yuan, up 460% from the 150.80 yuan IPO price. The debut coincided with the opening day of the World Robot Conference in Beijing.
Many headlines quote only the 629% figure. That was the intraday high, not the closing result. The closing gain of 460% is the number to use when describing the day.
The money and the context
The Robot Report's August funding tally counts Unitree's IPO at $905 million, the largest deal of the month. The article does not break down how the proceeds will be used. AFP adds that Unitree's robots are used by academics and by US firms including Nvidia, Google and Amazon, according to Renjie Guo of Zeroth.
The listing also arrives under political pressure in the US: AFP notes that Washington put Unitree on a list of firms accused of aiding the Chinese military in June, and that US imports of new humanoid and quadruped robots were restricted in July (see our FCC article).
What the sources do not say
Neither the AFP report nor The Robot Report states any change to Unitree list prices, production volumes or delivery times after the listing. Any statement that prices will fall or rise is speculation at this point. A public company will publish regular financial reports, which should eventually give the first audited numbers on shipments and margins.
The Robot Report also notes that Unitree filed for a $610 million IPO in March 2026, while the August tally shows $905 million. The sources do not explain the difference, so we quote each number with its source and do not treat them as one figure.
What this means for buyers
RoboHub's view: do not time a purchase around the share price. Compare the current quote from an authorized distributor, the warranty, the spare-parts and service route in your country, and the support period for software. A company with fresh capital may expand production and service, but that is a plan until delivery times visibly shorten.
If you buy in the US, check the FCC status of the exact model before paying, and in all regions confirm how firmware updates and cloud connections work. Existing catalog prices for Unitree models are unchanged.
